Stunning First Trailer For Christian Bale’s Upcoming Western HOSTILES

If you're a fan of westerns, there's no doubt that this first trailer for Christian Bale's Hostile is going to get you excited. The movie comes from writer and director Scott Cooper, who directed films such as Out of the Furnace and Black Mass. The guy has made some incredible films and this looks like it could be one of his best.

The story for the film follows a US Cavalry officer who has to escort a Cheyenne war chief and his family back to their tribal lands in Montana. Obviously, this task doesn't come easy and they are met with peril on their journey. It looks like it will be an incredibly intense movie. I'm so happy to see that westerns are still being made. Here's the full synopsis:

Scott Cooper has turned to another venerable American genre, the western, for Hostiles, the raw and compelling tale of an embittered and battle-hardened US Cavalry officer ordered to accompany a Cheyenne war chief and his family back to their tribal lands in Montana. The flinty-eyed Captain Blocker (Bale) has seen more than his fair share of violence and bloodletting on the frontier, but this mission, which he is forced to accept, is a particularly bitter pill to swallow: Chief Yellow Hawk (Wes Studi) has been his mortal enemy for years due to a conflict that killed many of Blocker’s friends. The Chief has also lost friends in the conflict.
Setting out through dangerous territory, much of it inhabited by hostile tribes, the small band of soldiers and Cheyenne navigate the beautiful prairies and wilds of the west, while facing a series of challenges. Blocker — much like John Wayne’s character in the John Ford classic The Searchers — is a racist, a man who harbours a deep hatred towards the former prisoners now placed in his care. As the challenges mount, Blocker is forced to confront his own bigotry while carrying out his orders. To complicate matters, the ragged party is joined by a stricken widow (Rosamund Pike) who has just seen her family massacred in a raid.
Hostiles cuts relentlessly into the complex, troubled relationship between those who have lived on this land for centuries and the white intruder, posing the question: is reconciliation possible?

The movie also stars Rosamund Pike, Adam Beach, Ben Foster, Jesse Plemons, Rory Cochrane, and Q’orianka Kilcher. The film has yet to pick up a distributor so there's no release date yet. I can't wait to see it, though!

One of the creators of The Inbetweeners Damon Beesley is teaming up with actor Joe Thomas for a new Comedy film about a group of teens attending a music festival called The Festival. The film will star Thomas, who played Simon on The Inbetweeners and Martin on the two's current Netflix and BBC collaboration White Gold, and the film is already teasing the likes of Jemaine Clement and Kurt Yaeger, so it should be a blast.

Those who have seen The Inbetweeners already know of the brilliance of this British comedy duo, and those who haven't will have to settle for the slim pickings that are available to watch on streaming services to get an idea. That, or they could watch the equally hilarious White Gold which stars Ed Westwick and I can't recommend enough to anyone who asks! Check out a trailer for that below and be on the lookout for more updates regarding this project!

Daniel Radcliffe Vs. The Jungle in Intense First Trailer For JUNGLE

Damn, Daniel Radcliffe goes to the extreme in his upcoming adventure survival thriller Jungle, which looks great! The movie is based on the real-life events of Yossi Ghinsberg, an Israeli backpacker who is played by Radcliffe. He set off on a journey from the Bolivian city of La Paz, on what was supposed to be the adventure of a lifetime with two of his friends.

Leading the way into the uncharted Amazon was an Austrian expat named Karl Ruprechter, who had met the friends just days before and claimed to be familiar with the region. But their dream trip soon turned into a wilderness nightmare from which not all of the men returned.

The film is based on Ghinsberg’s book which details the hellish journey. When talking to EW last year about the film Radcliffe said:

“It’s about this guy that got lost in the jungle and survived on his own for three weeks. It’s testing everybody: the crew, myself, everyone. It’s a very intense but a very seriously fun shoot.”

Jungle was directed by Greg McLean (Wolf Creek, The Belko Experiment). It will hit theaters and VOD on October 20th and it looks like a film that you don't want to miss!

More Dads Make For More Ridiculousness in Funny New Trailer For DADDY’S HOME 2

Daddy's Home was a decent comedy that had its moments, but this sequel looks like it could be so much more funny. Daddy's Home 2 features the return of Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg as two fathers who have come to work together as friends and co-dads for the benefits of their kids. What takes things to a new level is the fact that their dads are coming to visit for Christmas and they are awesomely played by Mel Gibson and John Lithgow! That casting alone is enough to make me want to see this movie, the fact that the sequel actually looks good though is definitely a plus. The trailer also gives us our first look at John Cena as another dad that is thrown into the mix.

In the sequel to the 2015 global smash, father and stepfather, Dusty (Mark Wahlberg) and Brad (Will Ferrell) have joined forces to provide their kids with t he perfect Christmas. Their newfound partnership is put to the test when Dusty’s old-school, macho Dad (Mel Gibson) and Brad’s ultra-affectionate and emotional Dad (John Lithgow) arrive just in time to throw the holiday into complete chaos.

The sequel was written by Sean Anders and John Morris, who wrote the first film and Anders will be back to direct.  The movie also stars Linda Cardellini, Thomas Haden Church, and Hannibal BuressDaddy’s Home 2 will hit theaters on November 10, 2017.

Charming Trailer For Saoirse Ronan’s Quirky Coming-of-Age Dramady LADY BIRD

"I want you to be the very best version of yourself that you can be."

I've got a wonderful trailer here for a quirky and whimsical coming-of-age comedy called Lady Bird. The film was directed by Greta Gerwig, who is an actress mostly known for her roles in films such as Mistress America and Maggie's Plan. The movie is a semi-autobiographical film and it stars Saoirse Ronan (Brooklyn, The Grand Budapest Hotel) in the role of the character based on Gerwig.

In Lady Bird, Greta Gerwig reveals herself to be a bold new cinematic voice with her directorial debut, excavating both the humor and pathos in the turbulent bond between a mother and her teenage daughter. Christine “Lady Bird” McPherson (Ronan) fights against but is exactly like her wildly loving, deeply opinionated and strong-willed mom (Laurie Metcalf), a nurse working tirelessly to keep her family afloat after Lady Bird’s father (Tracy Letts) loses his job. Set in Sacramento, California in 2002, amidst a rapidly shifting American economic landscape, Lady Bird is an affecting look at the relationships that shape us, the beliefs that define us, and the unmatched beauty of a place called home.

I know this isn't really a geeky trailer, but I enjoy watching movie like this. It looks like it will have some feel good moments and offer some life lessons. It looks like a great film and I'll definitly be checking it out.

Lady Bird opens in theaters on November 10th.

Rian Johnson Discusses Snoke in THE LAST JEDI and Describes Him as “The Scary Thing Behind The Thing”

Supreme Leader Snoke is one of those new Star Wars characters that is completely shrouded in mystery. I want to know what his deal is! I want to know where he came from and what his purpose serves for the story that is being told in this new Saga.

During a recent interview with Empire, director Rian Johnson talked about Snoke and compared him to Emperor Palpatine. Unfortunately, for those of you like myself that were hoping to get more of a history on the character, That’s not going to happen in Star Wars: The Last Jedi. He explained:

"We got the whole story of Palpatine’s rise to power in the prequels, but in the original films he's exactly what he needs to be, which is just ‘The Emperor’. He's a dark force: the scary thing behind the thing. That was entirely how I approached Snoke. I wasn't interested in explaining where he came from or telling his history, except where it serves this story.”

I get why he’s taking this route, but I would still love to get some background info on the character. Hopefully, they at least reveal who Snoke is and where he came from. They don’t have to spend an insane amount of time on it, but I want answers!

If we don’t get anything in The Last Jedi, hopefully, we get some detailed information in Episode IX. We’ll just have to wait and see. When it comes to the other villain, Kylo Ren, though, Johnson definitely plans on diving into this character and who he is saying:

“Writing Kylo Ren is just so much fun. Star Wars boils down to the transition from adolescence into adulthood. That’s the heart of these films and Rey is most obviously the one that hangs on. But it’s also Kylo. In the originals you project entirely onto Luke, while Vader is the scary other — he’s the minotaur. The fascinating thing about Kylo and Rey is that they’re two sides of something. We can all relate to Kylo: to that anger of being in the turmoil of adolescence and figuring out who he’s going to be as a man; dealing with anger and wanting to separate from his family. He’s not Vader — at least, he’s not Vader yet — and that’s something I really wanted to get into.”

By saying that Kylo Ren isn’t Vader yet, that tells me there may still be hope for him to come out of this utter darkness that he’s found himself trapped in. Maybe there is a way out of the darkness for Kylo Ren. The question is, will he be strong enough to take the necessary steps he needs to take to get out of it? Do you think the character is even redemable after killing his own father?

Star Wars: The Last Jedi is released in UK cinemas on Friday 15 December.

Rumored Plot Details Surface For BOND 25 Tell Us How The Movie Might Start

After a lot of back and forth talk, Daniel Craig is officially coming back to reprise his role of James Bond in Bond 25. Today, thanks to Page Six we have some potential new details on the film and how the story will kick off.

The following information is only a rumor for the time being since we have no confirmation but if you’re interested in learning how Bond’s next adventure begins, by all means… keep on reading.

According to a source close to the production, Bond quits the secret service because he falls in love and gets married to Léa Seydoux’s character, Dr. Madeleine Swann. For those of you who don’t remember, he barely managed to rescue her at the end of the last movie Spectre. His happiness doesn’t last long, though. According to the report, Swann is killed early on in the film and that’s what brings Bond back into action.

The film is described a “Taken with Bond” as Bond is out to avenge his wife’s murder. This plot shares some similarities with Ian Fleming’s On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, in which Bond is married to Tracy Draco, who is brutally murdered by the villain Blofeld. Only instead of the death happening at the end of the story, it happens at the beginning of this movie.

It was previously rumored that the plot might also be based on the book Never Dream of Dying in which 007 comes "face to face with his most cunning nemesis-the enigmatic blind criminal mastermind behind the sinister organization known only as the Union."

Bond 25 is being written by Neal Purvis and Robert Wade, who are long time collaborators and writers on the previous Bond films such as Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace, Skyfall and Spectre. As of right now, there are three directors in the running to direct the film. Those directors include Yann Demange ('71), Denis Villeneuve (Arrival, Blade Runner 2049) and David Mackenzie (High or High Water). None of them have been locked in, though, so it could end up being anyone.

Craig has said that he wants to go out on a high note with this film. Hopefully, this next chapter is his best one yet. Bond 25 is set to be released on November 8th, 2019.

First Trailer For Netflix’s THE MAGIC SCHOOL BUS RIDES AGAIN Features New Theme Song From Lin-Manuel Miranda

Netflix has released the first trailer for their reboot of the classic animated series, The Magic School Bus. The new series is called The Magic School Bus Ride Again and the trailer includes an all new theme song from Hamilton creator Lin Manuel-Miranda

Bus, do your stuff! The kids are back at Walkerville School for another school year of astonishing, out-of-this-world field trips in this all-new reimagining of the iconic science-comedy-adventure series The Magic School Bus™.

It might be fun to watch Ms. Frizzle take these kids on some insane and deadly adventures again. There's nothing like taking a group of school children on a field trip where at any time someone could die! It's all in the name of learning, though, so it's ok.

The new series stars the voices of Kate McKinnon as Ms. Frizzle, who is the younger sister of Professor Frizzle, the character from the original series, who will be voiced by Lily Tomlin. So Tomlin is basically reprising her role from the original series, which is kinda cool.
