New Character Posters Released For SOLO: A STAR WAR STORY Include All The New Characters

Lucasfilm has released a new collection of character posters for Solo: A Star Wars Story that features many of the new characters from the film that haven't had their own poster yet. Then, of course, there are the usual suspects, and Han Solo making that goofy face of his.

Some of those other characters include Rio (Jon Favreau), L3-37 (Phoebe Waller-Bridge), Dryden Vos (Paul Bettany), Val (Thandie Newton), and Beckett (Woody Harrelson).

Solo: A Star Wars Story makes the jump to light speed in a high-octane adventure that navigates the perils of a dark and dangerous criminal underworld, forges new friendships that will last a lifetime, and reveals untold secrets from the hidden past of one of the Star Wars saga’s most unlikely heroes. Han Solo meets loyal co-pilot Chewbacca and notorious gambler Lando Calrissian for the first time, bound by a desperate mission against impossible odds that will help shape the irresistible scoundrel audiences have come to love.

The Ron Howard directed film also stars Alden Ehrenreich as Han, Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian, Joonas Suotamo as Chewbacca, and Emilia Clarke as Qi'Ra.

Solo: A Star Wars Story opens in U.S. theaters on May 25, 2018.

Joe Manganiello Discusses His Take on DEATHSTROKE and Says His Research Was Passed on to Director Gareth Evans

After everything that Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment have gone through since Justice League, we weren't sure if a Deathstroke solo film was still going to happen even though he did appear in the post credit scenes of the film. But then, a couple of weeks ago by Joe Manganiello confirmed that Deathstroke's solo film was still in development.

The character was originally supposed to be introduced in Ben Affleck's The Batman, but that's not going to happen. After Matt Reeves took on The Batman film project the plans changed and the studio hired The Raid director Gareth Evans to helm the solo film. That got fans very excited!

Now the actor has opened up a bit about the research that he's done on the character which gives us an idea of what his take on Deathstroke will be like. He also reveals that all of the research that he did on the character will be rolled into the film that Evans is currently developing. Here's what he said while appearing on Chris Hardwick’s ID10T podcast:

“When I met with Ben Affleck about Batman, the meeting we were having was for Deathstroke. This is a real opportunity to figure out who this guy is on the inside. Like what he’s battling with.

From the inside, this is a person who is struggling with all types of things. I think it’s really interesting to tell that kind of a story and tell the truth emotionally of a story like that when you’re talking about a man who lost an eye, was betrayed, lost a son. These different types of aspects.

Then you couple that with real world military training. Then I started training at like a Ninjutsu dojo and started learning sword fighting. Started learning and understanding where those techniques come from. All of a sudden this thing starts writing itself. What I love doing is in an instance like that I’m able to, at the ground level, I’m able to go back and pitch all of my work. So I’m pitching them: 'This is where I think he comes from. This is where I think he’s going. This is the military background. These are some articles that I pulled for you. I also interviewed these people over here.'

The Ninjustu school, there are scrolls that are written that have these ancient techniques that are not shared with students that are locked away because somebody is going to go into a bar and rip someone’s head off using one of these techniques. What are those techniques? Where are they? Could there theoretically be somebody that would go around and learn these insanely offensive techniques and become this incredible killer? But I’m rooting it in the world. I’m rooting it in something honest so it feels real.

Somewhere along that way I know that it was announced where the studio – there was talks with Gareth Evans and talks about an origin movie. I’m not giving news. I spent six months prior to all of those phone calls writing a backstory that was turned into sixteen pages, which got turned into a treatment, which then led to my Skype call with Gareth.”

It's great to hear how much work that Manganiello put into the research and development of this character. We don't know if Gareth Evans will end up using any of it in his film, but you'd think that it'd make some kind of impact on the development of it. Regardless, Manganiello will be able to put all of his efforts into action when he gets to play the character and I have no doubt that Evans will give fans something incredibly badass if WB actually gives it the greenlight.

Are you excited about seeing a Deathstroke solo film?

Marvel Studios is Interested in Developing a MOON KNIGHT Movie and a NOVA Film Has “Immediate Potential”

Marvel Studios has yet to reveal anything regarding the next phase of their Marvel film beyond that fact that a Spider-Man sequel and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will be a part of it. There's a whole line of movies just waiting to be revealed!

While we wait for those details to be announced, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige did talk about a couple films that they might be getting around to making sometime in the future. Those films would revolve around the characters Nova and Moon Knight.

When talking about Nova, Feige says that it has "immediate potential". This is what he told a room full of press:

"[If] we have a big board with a bunch of characters that have more immediate potential, Nova is on that board. Because of the connection to the Guardians universe, because there are more than one examples to pull from in the comics that are interesting. And you’re absolutely right, he was in the earliest drafts of the [Guardians of the Galaxy]."

The cosmic superhero Nova is such a great character and he could easily make a great solo movie. Feige obviously did go into any detail on how the character would be handled, but he did say:

"We're figuring those things out. It is a very unique embarrassment of riches right now because there are so many of the characters that audiences are clamoring to see more. The question is how do we show them all?"

Another one of those characters that he would like to play with on the big screen is Moon Knight, which has previously been talked about being a series. If a movie does happen, though, it's one that might not be for awhile. While talking Screen Rant, Feige was asked if he had plans for the character and he said:

"Yes. Does that mean five years from now, 10 years from now, 15 years from now? There are stacks of character cards that we have in our, in our development offices, which we look at. Which we pull for him, which we discussed."

Moon Knight is a fan-favorite Marvel character, so it makes sense that they would eventually bring the character to life in some way. Just in case you need a reminder of who Moon Knight is:

Moon Knight, Marc Spector, Steven Grant and Jake Lockley: four different aspects of the same man who was resurrected by Khonshu, the Egyptian Lunar-God of Vengeance and Justice to serve as his "avatar". Those unjust mortals who prey upon the innocents who travel at night, with powers that come from the moon, beware the Vengeance of the Moon Knight!

He's a dark and gritty character that would work great as a Netflix series, but if Marvel actually wants to bring that kind of tone to the MCU, I'd love to see it happen!

What do you think about the possibility of seeing Nova and Moon Knight films get made?

STRANGER THINGS Season 3 Begins Filming

Stranger Things Season 3 has officially begun filming, which means we're already that much closer to the next season appearing on Netflix! Everything we've read so far about the new season sounds interesting, and it looks like Season 4 is already a sure thing. Why? If I had to guess it's because Season 3's story ends on a cliffhanger, which would definitely suck, although as long as the new season isn't terrible I can suffer through it!

Executive producer Shawn Levy previously revealed that the third season would take place one year after the second season, so that would set it during the summer of 1985. He went on to talk about the relationships of the teen characters. When the story picks up Eleven (Millie Bobbie Brown) and Mike (Finn Wolfhard) will be a couple as will Lucas (Caleb McLaughlin) and Max (Sadie Sink). He also said that Steve Harrington will have a bigger role in the story this time around and that Robert Zemeckis and Steven Spielberg's film Back to the Future will be a reference in the upcoming season.

Are you excited for Stranger Things Season 3, or has the hype of the series fizzled out for you?

Test Screening For The New HALLOWEEN Film Didn’t Go Over Well With Audience

Blumhouse Productions recently held a test screening for David Gordon Green and Danny McBride's new Halloween film, which is set 40 years after the events of the original film. Apparently, that screening didn't go over very well and there's no doubt that fans of the franchise won't like what is being said.

The following information comes from Horror Freak News. A source at the screening told them that the film "suffers from a lack of continuity with barely any exposition connecting this Halloween to its roots." That person also says that the current cut is too long, clocking in at close to 2 hours with "considerable time spent developing characters who don’t last long."

The film tested fair to poorly with the audience, and the movie. is said to be "aimed at modern horror fans who enjoy franchises like The Purge and Sinister, rather than the nuanced or complex tapestry Michael Myers aficionados are craving."

I definitely don't like the sound of that, especially after all of the talk on how this movie would honor what John Carpenter did in the original film, and that it would bring back the dread of the original film. McBride previously said:

"The original is all about tension. Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) doesn't even know that Michael Myers exists until the last minutes of the movie. So much of it you're in anticipation of what's going to happen and the dread that [director John] Carpenter spins so effortlessly in that film, I think we were really trying to get it back to that. We're trying to mine that dread. Mine that tension and not just go for gore and ultra-violence that you see some horror movies lean on. To us, it was all about bringing back the creep factor and trying to find the horror in your own backyard, in our own homes."

It's also said that the new film features multiple homages to the previously Halloween movies. According to the source, there are "cool nods to Halloween 3, 4, and 6." But then says that they are like shot-for-shot recreations of classic moments from past chapters, and are more like "carbon copies that felt more like rip-offs than homages." What's funny about that is that this film was supposed to have skipped anything after the first Halloween movie. One example given is that at one point Michael Myers makes an escape in the exact same way he did 40 years ago.

The biggest issue of the film for almost everyone at the screening was the ending! The source says it was "unsatisfying and hardly befitting of something John Carpenter promises will be the last Halloween movie ever."

Sounds to me like this movie is going to have to go through some big reshoots if they want to get it right. Regardless of what I'm hearing here, I'm actually looking forward to this movie, so I really do hope that whatever they deliver will be something that fans like myself will love. I'll be pretty disappointed if it just turns out to be another crappy sequel.

Jamie Lee Curtis returns to reprise her iconic role as Laurie Strode, who is said to come to her final confrontation with Michael Myers, the masked figure who has haunted her since she narrowly escaped his killing spree on Halloween night four decades ago. Judy Greer plays Karen Strode, the daughter of Laurie, and Andi Matichak (Orange Is the New Black, Underground) plays Allyson, the granddaughter.

The film is set to hit theaters on October 19th,

J.J. Abrams Might Be Casting a Major Character From the STAR WARS Expanded Universe For EPISODE IX

J.J. Abrams is currently deep into the development of Star Wars: Episode IX and with the film project scheduled to start shooting in July, he and his team are in the process of casting the lead roles in the film. Thanks to a recent report from That Hashtag Show, it looks like he may be including a major and popular character from the classic Expanded Universe novels.

Even though this is only a rumor, if you don't wan't to know who this character might be, you probably won't want to read ahead:

They are reporting that Abrams and casting director Nina Gold, who has worked on both The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi, are looking for a "female lead, 40-50 years old, to play the role of MARA." Now, this could be a code name being used during the casting process, but this character is believed to be Mara Jade, who was introduced in Timothy Zahn's novel Heir to the Empire, which was published back in 1991. For those of you not familiar with the character, here's a brief rundown from the report:

Mara Jade is a character that carries a special importance to a generation of fans who only had the EU novels to quench their Star Wars thirst. Originally the Hand of Emperor Palpatine, Jade, a powerful Force user in her own right, was sent to kill Luke Skywalker. Skywalker was able to not only escape death but to break Palpatine’s posthumous power over Jade. The two went on to marry, have children and train a new generation of Jedi.

If Mara Jade does end up in the film, I have no clue how they would utilize her. It would obviously open up more questions about Luke Skywalker's past, but there are already, so many questions in this new trilogy that need to be answered! Now is not the time to add any more questions! But, maybe she is an answer, maybe she could tie into Rey's parentage somehow. Could she be Rey's mother? At this point, we have no idea.

I know that when Disney first acquired Lucasfilm and made plans to continue the Star Wars franchise that they said they wouldn't really count the Expanded Universe, but since then, some characters from the EU have found their way into the official canon again. Some of those characters include Thrawn in Rebels and the Cloud-Riders, who will be featured in the upcoming Solo film.

There is one fact here in this article, Lucasfilm is casting a female lead in her 40s to 50s, for the role of "MARA." Everything else is just rumor and speculation.

As the film gets closer and closer to production things will start to come together and things will start to come into focus. In the meantime, let us know what you think about the possibility of seeing Mara Jade introduced in Episode IX.

Star Wars: Episode IX is set to be released on December 20th, 2019.

GOD OF WAR’S Latest Patch Fixes The Game’s Text Size

God of War, the latest entry in the ever-popular franchise received almost perfect reviews from several gaming outlets online. God of War is indeed a fantastic title that balances an immersive story to a heart-pumping gameplay. However, several players complained about the fact that the in-game text is too small that would force people to stand next to the screen in order to read. Sony’s Santa Monica Studio was quick to respond and recently released an update to fix the minor hiccup.

Patch 1.12, which was made available last night, added a slider to increase the text in the game, which can be found via the Accessibility menu from the game’s settings. I’d say, Santa Monica’s prompt action to release a patch to fix the text problem is commendable, trouble is, the patch barely made a difference as the slider just magnifies the font size instead of actually increasing it. Check out the screenshot via Kotaku, which shows the not so different text size.

Here’s the screenshot of the game with the slider at the minimum:

Here’s the maximum:

Of course, increasing the font size of the in-game text is no walk in the park as this could lead to a host of new problems such as text bleeding and warping. Due to the short time the developer had to create the patch, maybe this is a temporary fix for the meantime. However, if Santa Monica wants its players to enjoy the game’s rich lore as they do with the story and combat, then something has to be done with the in-game text size.

How did you find God of War? Was it worth the perfect review scores? Share your thoughts in the comments below.

Zack Snyder Originally Had a Five-Film Story Arc Planned For Superman

When director Zack Snyder made Man of Steel, he has originally envisioned it as the first film in a five-film story arc for Superman. He had big plans for this character, plans that, at this point, we will never see come to fruition. Whatever Zack Snyder was planning for the character was buried when Warner Bros. replaced him with Joss Whedon on Justice League.

We could obviously see what Snyder was setting up with Man of Steel and expanding on that in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, but we didn't really know what the extent of that would be regarding the character Superman. One hint we got regarding that future was when The Flash warned Bruce Wayne that he had to save "her", which is in regards to Lois Lane, and then we got a glimpse a world where Darkseid has taken charge and Superman had joined him.

Now, thanks to Jay Oliva, director of the DC animated films The Flashpoint Paradox and The Dark Knight Returns as well as a storyboard artist on Man of Steel and Batman v Superman, we know that Snyder had planned a five-film story arc for Superman. It would have been incredibly interesting to be able to see how that story would play out, but audiences made it clear that they weren't interested in what Snyder was planning and in response, Snyder scrapped whatever plans he had.

Here's what Oliva had to say:

Would you have liked to Snyder realize his full vision for Superman? Or are you happy to see the the studio has made the changes that they have made?

CONSTANTINE Actor Michael Shaw Plays Corvus Glaive in AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR

A lot of fans thought Peter Dinklage was the actor providing the voice of the villain Corvus Glaive in Avengers: Infinity War, but that's not the case. Dinklage is playing a completely different character because the directors confirmed over the weekend that the member of Thanos' Black Order was played by Constantine actor Michael Shaw.

While talking with CinemaBlendJoe Russo revealed:

"It's a gentleman named Michael Shaw... He's an actor, and we cast a wide net for these characters."

Anthony Russo added:

"In the same way we were approaching Thanos with Josh Brolin to bring sort of a very grounded, realistic performance, we wanted to do that with everyone in the Black Order. So we cast very, very good actors for those."

He went on to talk about the work that went into bringing these character to life fpr the film saying:

"We had Terry Notary, so Terry worked very closely with every one of them to help them understand, including Josh, to help them understand movement, what the relationship between their body and their characters' bodies are, almost like a puppeteer."

If you are not familiar with Corvus Glaive, the character made his debut in Jonathan Hickman’s “Infinity” as part of the Black Order. As a soldier to Thanos, Corvus works for the Mad Titan alongside his wife Proxima Midnight. So far, footage for Avengers: Infinity War has confirmed the two Black Order loyalists will appear in the film. So, fans will get to see how Corvus’ appearance in the film stacks up to his comic debut.

Now, we still have to figure out who Peter Dinklage is playing! We've only got four more days to go!
