Patrick Wilson Wants To Reprise His Role of Nite-Owl in HBO’s WATCHMEN Series

As you know, Damon Lindelof is deep in development of a Watchmen series for HBO. This will be a new adaption of Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons’s classic graphic novel. I'm a fan of Zack Snyder's big screen adaptation, but I'm pretty stoked about seeing how this series turns out, especially with Lindelof and HBO's involvement.

There is one actor from the film who would love to reprise his role in the series. That actor is Patrick Wilson, who played Daniel Dreiberg a.k.a. Nite-Owl for Snyder. While talking to Yahoo Movies, he said:

"It was such a joy shooting that movie, I wanted there to be more of them. I’ve wanted to play Dan again. I certainly think we’re all more age appropriate now!"

He makes a good point, but the actor goes on to point out that he hasn't heard anything from HBO about the show.

"There’s never been one conversation. I’m sure they want to stay as far away from us as possible but I love Damon Lindeloff I’m so excited to see what they will do. I’d love to play [Dan] now but no there’s been no talk, I’m just a fan like you are."

I loved Wilson in this role and it would be cool to see him play the character in the series, but he's right. HBO probably isn't going to go that route. When previously talking about the series and why he was doing it, Lindelof said:

"Watchmen—it was dangerous. And you can’t be dangerous for dangerous’s sake, but the reason that I’m doing this is these are dangerous times, and we need dangerous shows."

Lindelof then teased how his Watchmen series will explore superheroes, saying:

"What we think about superheroes is wrong. I love the Marvel movies... I grew up on these characters, but we should not trust people who put on masks and say that they are looking out for us. If you hide your face, you are up to no good."

Are you looking forward to this Watchmen series and would you want to see Patrick Wilson come back to play Nite-Owl?

Revisit 1990s Awesomeness in This Fun Teaser Trailer For Netflix’s EVERYTHING SUCKS!

revisit-1990s-awesomeness-in-this-fun-teaser-trailer-for-netflixs-everything-sucks-social.jpg

I spent my teenage years in the 1990s and when I look back at that time, I loved it! I have some many great memories, but at the same time, it was awkward as hell! If you grew up in the 90s this new trailer for Netflix's upcoming series Everything Sucks! will flood your senses with nostalgic memories of what it was like to grow up during this era of greatness. The teaser was made in the style of those cheesy pop up music videos that I'm sure many of you will remember from VH-1. This teaser trailer did a great job of getting me excited about this series!

The ’90s high school experience: Desperate, heartfelt, awkward, exciting, and free of smartphones. Set in the real life town of Boring, Oregon in 1996, Everything Sucks! is a quirky, funny coming-of-age story that revolves around Boring High School’s A/V Club and Drama Club— two crews of nerdy-edgy outsiders, who join forces to make a movie and endure the purgatory known as high school.

The show stars Peyton Kennedy (American Fable, The Captive) and Jahi Winston (The New Edition Story) as students Kate Messner and Luke O’Neil, with Patch Darragh (Sully, Boardwalk Empire) and Claudine Nako (Grimm) as their respective parents.

The 10-episode, half-hour dramedy was created by Ben York Jones (Like Crazy, Newness) and Michael Mohan (Save the Date, Pink Grapefruit), who will also both serve as executive producers.

Everything Sucks! will premiere on Netflix on February 16, 2018. Watch the trailer abnd let us know if you're excited about this series. What are some of your favorite things from the 90s!?

Japanese Trailer For AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR

A new Japanese trailer for Marvel's Avengers: Infinity War has surfaced for fans to check out. The trailer doesn't offer any new footage, but everything is cut together in a different way putting the battle between Thanos and the Marvel heroes in a different context. Even though there's no new footage, it's still a solid trailer that will keep the fire of excitement burning within the fans. I love the dark sense of dread that we've seen in these trailers.

Thanos will be the greatest villain yet that the Avengers will have to take on, and it's safe to say that by the time it's over, not everyone is going to come out of it alive. I'm so excited to see this story play out on the big screen!

As the Avengers and their allies have continued to protect the world from threats too large for any one hero to handle, a new danger has emerged from the cosmic shadows: Thanos. A despot of intergalactic infamy, his goal is to collect all six Infinity Stones, artifacts of unimaginable power, and use them to inflict his twisted will on all of reality. Everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to this moment - the fate of Earth and existence itself has never been more uncertain.

Avengers: Infinity War was Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, and it also stars Robert Downey Jr., Josh Brolin, Mark Ruffalo, Tom Hiddleston, Chris Hemsworth, Jeremy Renner, Chris Pratt, Elizabeth Olsen, Sebastian Stan, Benedict Cumberbatch, Paul Bettany, Samuel L. Jackson, Cobie Smulders, Benedict Wong, Zoe Saldana, Karen Gillan, Vin Diesel, Dave Bautista, Pom Klementieff, and Tom Holland.

Avengers: Infinity War is set to open on May 4, 2018.

Youtube’s KARATE KID Series COBRA KAI Will Be Faithful To The Original Movie

sphe-karate_kid_1984-Full-Image_GalleryBackground-en-US-1484348611778._RI_SX940_.jpg

A YouTube Executive revealed new details about the YouTube Red original series Cobra Kai which based on the 1980s classic The Karate Kid at Television Critics Association.

YouTube Global Head of Original Content Susanne Daniels told /Film that Ralph Macchio and William Zabka will reprise their rival roles as Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence from the original movie. The series comes from Harold and Kumar franchise creators Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg, and Hot Tub Time Machine writer Josh Heald, but Daniels insists that Cobra Kai is not a straight comedy.

“It is a half an hour format but I would call it a dramedy. I think it leans into the tone of the movies in that there are dramatic moments throughout. I think it’s very faithful really in some ways to what the movie set about doing, the lessons imparted in the movie if you will. It’s next generation Karate Kid.”

Cobra Kai is set in present day, it follows Johnny as he reopens the old Cobra Kai dojo, reigniting the old rivalry with Daniel LaRusso. Since so much time has passed since they last faced off, both Daniel and Johnny now have teenage kids of their own now. Daniels said:

“What’s interesting, I find, is that it doesn’t have to be a hit movie. A hit movie doesn’t necessarily mean a hit TV series. Clueless is a movie I still like and still watch. The TV version of it wasn’t great, I thought, all due respect to Amy Heckerling. Buffy the Vampire Slayer was not a great movie and Joss [Whedon] did a great job making the series. It’s about finding the right movie and finding the right director/producer/writer team that understands how to take the movie and make it into a series franchise.”

Are you excited for this series?  Will LaRusso pass on the invaluable lessons like "Wax On, Wax Off?" We shall see when Cobra Kai debuts this spring on YouTube Red.

Christopher Nolan’s THE DARK KNIGHT Returning To Theaters For 10th Anniversary

dark-knight-308.jpg

Many Batman fans still regard Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight as the best Batman movie of all time. And soon the second installment of the Batman Trilogy starring Christian Bale will celebrate its 10th anniversary. And if you live in the northeastern United States you will get to see the Joker and Batman do battle once again on the big screen. Theater chain Showcase Cinemas will screen The Dark Knight on February 8th and 11th.

The movie was released back in July 2008 as the follow-up to 2005's Batman Begins. Bale starred as Batman and was joined by cast members Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, and Morgan Freeman.

Maggie Gyllenhaal was brought on to replace Katie Holmes in the role of Rachel Dawes and Aaron Eckhart played Harvey Dent/Two Face. But the most talked about role of the entire film was the brilliant performance by the late Heath Ledger as The Joker. Sadly, Ledger died before the movie was even released. And he famously won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance.

For those of you that don't live in the Northeastern U.S. you can always watch The Dark Knight at home on BluRay or the newly released 4K Ultra HD release that was part of a Christopher Nolan 4K Collection in 2017.

The Animated CONSTANTINE Series Will Be Darker Than The Original Series

When the animated Constantine series premieres on The CW Seed, it will pick up where the live-action series left off, albeit with one exception. Peter Girardi, EVP of Blue Ribbon Content informed press at the TCA winter tour (via Slashfilm) the series will be much darker than its predecessor:

The Constantine that we’re doing, it’s Constantine. If you’re familiar with the character Constantine from the Vertigo comic, it’s dark, darker than the show.

Girardi suggested parents not let their younger children watch the series when it debuts later this year. I'll give the series a shot, of course, but I would much rather see John Constantine back in the Arrow-verse in a much more permanent capacity. What about you?

Netflix Is Still Exploring The Possibility Of Launching An App On The Switch

switch-netflix.jpg

The extreme popularity of the Nintendo Switch had numerous fans clamoring for a Netflix app to be introduced in the hybrid console, due to the fact that the Switch can be seamlessly used as a home console, and as a portable handheld device will allow fans to watch their favorite Netflix show at home on their TVs and on the go. However, we may have to wait to watch Stranger Things on our Switch.

In a previous Tweet that has since been deleted, Netflix originally responded to a question about the possibility of introducing the streaming service to the Switch, by saying that they have no current plans to launch the app on the Switch. The original tweet devastated a lot of fans of both the Switch and Netflix, which led the streaming service to delete the tweet and retract their original statement.  Netflix recently posted a correction on their original tweet saying:

I don’t really see why Netflix or Nintendo is holding back on releasing the streaming app on the Nintendo Switch. If fans of both companies are asking for it, why wouldn’t they take advantage of the high demand for the streaming service? Netflix is even available for the Wii U so is the Switch’s portability a problem for Netflix?

Although having Netflix on the Nintendo Switch is good to have, and should have been a standard since almost all gaming platforms have it, I personally am not that excited on the prospect of Netflix on the Switch because if I plan to stream at home, I’ll just do it on my TV, and when on the go, I can just easily watch my favorite shows on my smartphone, but that’s just me. The Switch has been extremely successful without it, but if fans really want it, then I really don't see why they are holding it off. Hopefully, Netflix and Nintendo will be able to work out on whatever issues they are facing that is prohibiting them from fulfilling the wish that their fans have been asking for since the launch of the hybrid console.

Why do you think Netflix is still unavailable on the Switch? Would you like to see the streaming app on the console? Or would you just rather Netflix and chill on your smartphone?

Romanian Boxer Florian “Big Nasty” Munteanu Cast as Ivan Drago’s Son in CREED 2

Sylvester Stallone has announced that Romanian boxer Florian “Big Nasty” Munteanu has been cast in the role of Ivan Drago's son in Creed 2. As you can see... this guy is a monster! He's 6 feet four, 245 pounds of intimidation.

When we first learned that Dolph Lundgren would be reprising his role of Ivan Drago, fans immediately speculated that the film would also introduce his son and that his son would fight Michael B. Jordan’s Adonis Creed. Well, now we know for a fact that we are going to see Creed and Drago step into the ring an fight.

This is going to make for a very interesting story dynamic because, as you know, Ivan Drago killed Adonis Creed's dad Apollo. I thought the first Creed film was great and I'm looking forward to seeing this sequel and how this next chapter of Creed's story plays out.

Creed 2 will be directed by Steven Caple Jr., who is best known for directing 2016’s skateboarding drama The Land. The script for the film comes from Stallone and Luke Cage showrunner and writer Cheo Hodari Coker. Production will begin in Philadelphia in March, and the movie will be released on November 21, 2018.

Congratulations to Florian “ Big Nasty” Munteanu for getting the part as IVAN DRAGOS son! 27 years old , 6 feet four, 245 pounds of talent.#mgm #creed #creed2

Wildly Insane Trailer For a Unique Alien Invasion Film Called BEFORE WE VANISH

I've got an extremely cool trailer for a wildly insane looking alien invasion action thriller called Before We Vanish. The Japanese film was directed by Kiyoshi Kurosawa (Pulse, Tokyo Sonata) and it looks like a very different and unique take on the sci-fi genre. It definitely offers a fascinating perspective on the genre and as you'll see in the trailer, things get brutal. Here's the synopsis:

Kiyoshi Kurosawa reinvents the alien movie as a unique and profoundly human tale of love and mystery. Three aliens travel to Earth on a reconnaissance mission in preparation for a mass invasion. Having taken possession of human bodies, the visitors rob the hosts of their essence – good, evil, property, family, belonging – leaving only hollow shells, which are all but unrecognizable to their loved ones. Equally hilarious, thrilling, and profound, BEFORE WE VANISH reminds audiences of the continued strength of one of Japanese cinema's most unique auteurs – and the value of the human spirit.

Before We Vanish will hit theaters on February 2nd. I'm excited about checking this film out. Watch the trailer for yourself and tell us what you think!

Chris Hemsworth Says More than 70 Characters Will Appear in AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR

722a17eb-d225-4065-b384-4e542ab8f9c5-infinity-war.jpg

As we all might imagine and based on what we've seen in the trailer, there is no doubt that Avengers: Infinity War is going to be unlike any other movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with characters from all corners of the MCU uniting.  Now one of the actors who plays one of the most important characters, Chris Hemsworth is giving us a good idea of just how many to expect.

In a recent interview with Postmedia Network,  Hemsworth teased just how massive Infinity War will be, with over 70 characters appearing throughout the film in one way or another.

“This is one of the biggest things in film history and to be a part of it was just incredible. I think what these characters are about to face — with Thanos — there’s been nothing quite like it. There are 76 cast members or something like that."

Hemsworth also hinted that some of the new team-ups that will be formed among the huge roster of characters will be epic. Even though we've seen hints of some of those teams in the trailer, Hemsworth says there's so much more left to see.

"I think what people are going to be excited about is what I was excited about and that’s Thor meeting the Guardians and Iron Man meeting Doctor Strange. The interactions between all of these characters and the different sorts of chemistry and the relationships that are formed is something that people are going to be pretty blown away by.”

It's pretty obvious that Infinity War is going to shake up everything we know in pop culture. But Hemsworth says Infinity War and Avengers 4 felt monumental behind-the-scenes.

“This is one of the biggest things in film history and to be a part of it was just incredible. I think what these characters are about to face — with Thanos — there’s been nothing quite like it... I finished literally two days ago and I looked at (directors) Joe and Anthony (Russo) and said, ‘I don’t know how you guys have gotten this far and I don’t know how you’re going to hold it together and complete this thing, but my hat’s off to you.’

Avengers: Infinity War will hit theaters on May 4th.
