Stephen King’s THE BONE CHURCH is Being Developed as a Series and David Ayer is Producing

stephen-kings-the-bone-church-is-being-developed-as-a-series-and-david-ayer-is-producing-social.jpg

We've got another series coming based on a narrative poem that Stephen King originally wrote in the 1960s. It's called The Bone Church and the author revisited the poem and published it in his anthology novel, The Bazaar Of Bad Dreams.

The right to the story was acquired by producers Chris Long (Mr. Mercedes) and David Ayer (Suicide Squad) and it will be developed under their Cedar Park Entertainment banner.

In the story, "an adventurer organizes an expedition deep into a vast jungle land to locate the mythic Bone Church. They discover a secret not meant for the eyes of strangers. Only three of the 32 travelers escaped with their lives in a tale narrated by one of the survivors, who tells stories from a bar stool to patrons who’ll buy him drinks."

I've actually never read this story, but it sounds intriguing! I'm going to have to check it out! It certainly sounds like it could make a great series!

King and his stories are more popular than ever, especially after the success of IT and a slew of great TV series that have been developed over the past couple of years. As for some of the other upcoming projects, we have IT: Chapter 2, the upcoming Hulu series Castle Rock, and Doctor Sleep, which is King’s sequel to The Shining.

Michael Rooker’s Yondo Showed Up and Shot a Scene For THOR: RAGNAROK

Thor: Ragnarok is currently available to buy as a digital download. There is a surprising deleted scene that is included in the special features that include Michael Rooker's Yondo from Guardians of the Galaxy!

As you all know by now, Yondu sacrificed himself saving Star-Lord in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. So why what he on the set of Thor: Ragnarok shooting a scene? Well, he was just having a little fun. So no... Yondu is not coming back from the dead.

The deleted scene is not online for you to watch yet, but in the scene, Yondu shows up on Asgard while Hela (Cate Blanchette) and Skurge (Karl Urban) are about to start killing people when they refuse to tell Hela where Heimdall is hiding with the other Asgardians that have escaped.

It's at this intense moment that Yondu steps up and interrupts the execution of an Asgardians citizen and says, "Hold on a minute, Haus." He looks a little disoriented for a second and then goes on to ask if anyone can tell him where Kevin and Lou’s offices are. At that point, someone points him in another direction and Yondu leaves.

In case you don't know who Kevin and Lou are, it's Marvel producers Kevin Feige and Louis D'Esposito. The scene was never meant to be put in the film. In case you're wondering why Rooker got all decked out in his costume and makeup for a joke scene, James Gunn has the answer:

Yondu appears as a ghost in the Halloween version of the Mission: Breakout ride, and that's what he was shooting when this all went down.

Chris Tucker Confirms RUSH HOUR 4 Is In Production

Chris Tucker has confirmed Rush Hour 4 is in production. Tucker didn't have any details beyond that, but told ESPN podcast The Plug the following about the film:

It's happening. This is gonna be the rush of all rushes. Jackie is ready, and we want to do this so people don't ever forget it.

Jackie Chan better be ready because at 63, they're losing time! Side note, Chris Tucker is only 46 and I had no idea there was such an age disparity between the two of them. Granted, it's not something I've ever really thought about but Tucker is much younger than I assumed he was in the first few films.

Are you excited for Rush Hour 4? Do you understand the words that are coming out of my mouth?

CONVICTING A MURDERER Aims To Tell The Other Side Of Steven Avery’s Case

While the world patiently waits for Season 2 of Making A Murderer, a new documentary has been made trying to tell the opposite side of Steven Avery's trial. The documentary, Convicting A Murderer, will present the perspective of law enforcement and prosecuting attorney Ken Kratz and claims it will lay out the stuff Making A Murderer excluded. Slashfilm said the documentary doesn't have a home at this time, although one would imagine Netflix would have some interest in picking it up.

Documentary filmmaker Shawn Rech had this to say in a statement:

“When ‘Making A Murderer’ was produced, many on the law enforcement side of the story could not, or would not, participate in the series, which resulted in a one-sided analysis of the case…This docu-series will examine the case and the allegations of police wrongdoing from a broader perspective. It will also share with viewers the traumatic effects of being found guilty and vilified in the court of public opinion.

“We fight for the truth. We’ll present all of the evidence in the Avery case from the perspective of both the prosecution and the defense and see if viewers feel the same way they did two years ago following the first season of ‘Making A Murderer’.”

I'm interested in how this documentary will play out, but if you're trying to convince me the story concocted around Steven Avery's murder of Teresa Halbach is true, you're barking up the wrong tree. Do I think its possible Steven Avery murdered Halbach? Sure, but I think Making A Murderer more than proved that police used a ton of bad police work to try and get a crime to stick when they actually didn't know the full story behind the murder. Will you watch this documentary if it finds a home? If so, is it because you think Steven Avery is guilty?

death-stranding.jpg

Death Stranding by Metal Gear series creator, Hideo Kojima, has been one of the most highly anticipated announcements last year. During 2017’s Game Awards, fans of the upcoming title finally got a reveal trailer that looks awesome, but also a bit confusing with its changing environment and something about an explosion that the trailer kept on repeating, but then again, this is a Kojima game after all. The announcement also confirmed Norman Reddus’ part in the game, and now, voice actors Troy Baker, from The Last of Us, and Emily O’ Brien from Days Gone, joins the cast of Kojima’s upcoming game.

In an Instagram post by O’Brien, showing Reedus, Baker, and herself, she wrote that, “Honored to be working alongside these two fine lads on [Hideo Kojima’s] new project Death Stranding.”

Furthermore, Troy Baker is known for his involvement in games such as The Last of Us, Infamous Second Son, Uncharted, and Bioshock. On the other hand, O’ Brien’s contribution to video games includes Telltale’s Guardians of the Galaxy, League of Legends, and Days Gone. Lastly, Norman Reedus has been famous for his role in The Walking Dead, and the canceled video game, Silent Hills PT.

In terms of the progress of Death Stranding’s development, Kojima has been sharing some details on the game including, elements such as death, and how it will encompass elements of social media. Given that the game is still in  development, Death Stranding is still covered with a cloud of mystery. The game is being built using the Guerilla Games’ Decima Engine, and Kojima hinted during the TGS event that the game may launch in 2018.

Are you excited with the inclusion of Troy Baker and Emily O’Brien in Death Stranding? What are your expectations of the game? Share your thoughts in the comments below.

Joss Whedon Was Reportedly Looking to Adapt “The Million Dollar Debut of Batgirl!”

joss-whedon-was-reportedly-looking-to-adapt-the-million-dollar-debut-of-batgirl-social.jpg

Yesterday we were hit with the news that Joss Whedon was no longer directing Batgirl for DC Entertainment. The reason behind him dropping out was because he couldn't crack a story for Batgirl. Well, it sounds like Joss Whedon actually did have a story that he wanted to tell.

According to Variety, Joss Whedon was looking to give us the original Batgirl origin story. He was going to adapt "The Million Dollar Debut of Batgirl!" That was the title of the story of the 1967 issue of Detective Comics Vol. 1 #359.

This is the first DC Comic that Barbara Gordon appeared in. If you aren't familiar with the story, here's a breakdown from ComicVine:

Barbara Gordon was a brainy librarian with a brown belt in judo. She was nothing like her teenage predecessor, Betty Kane, who relished being a hero; in fact, the daughter of Police Commissioner Gordon only donned a Batgirl costume for a policeman's masquerade ball.
However, when she stumbled upon an attempt on the life of millionaire Bruce Wayne by Killer Moth, Barbara sprang into action, fending off the attackers and feeling a crime-fighting spirit awaken within her. The spirit awakened again following what appeared to be Wayne's murder at the hands of the Killer Moth. Unfortunately, Batgirl soon discovered that "Wayne" was a dummy set up by Batman and Robin to draw out Killer Moth, and her arrival had interfered with the operation.
Though dejected, Batgirl quickly made amends for her rookie mistakes, tracking Killer Moth to his hideout and rescuing the Dynamic Duo from a gravity free chamber that made them helpless targets. She had been wearing perfume during their previous tussle and some had rubbed off on Killer Moth. She was even able to scent down the criminal mastermind when he attempted to evade capture.
The Caped Crusader told the impressive Batgirl that he would welcome her help whenever the need arose, though she wasn't the type to wait for an invitation. Furthermore she was intent on refuting the perception of the "weaker sex" and refused to take a back seat to anyone.

A lot of fans thought that Whedon's film would focus on an older Barbara Gordon after she recovered from being shot by The Joker. It makes sense, though, that Whedon would want to set the story around a younger version of the character.

I think "The Million Dollar Debut of Batgirl!" would have been a fine story to tell. Personally, I think there's more to Whedon stepping down as the director than what we are being told.

We have no idea where the project will go from here, but there are rumors that Warner Bros. is now looking for a female director to take on the project.

Donald Glover Explains Why SOLO Will Be a Lot More Fun Than Other STAR WARS Films

donald-glover-explains-why-solo-will-be-a-lot-more-fun-than-other-star-wars-films-social.jpg

A lot of fans were worried about Solo: A Star Wars Story before those first two trailers were released. Now that we actually have an idea of what this movie will entail, for the most part, fans seem to be pumped up for it. Now, in case you are looking for something more to up your excitement, maybe Donald Glover's latest statement on the film will give you that.

While talking to Entertainment Tonight about the movie, Glover was asked how Solo will be different in tone than the other films in the franchise, and he explains that it will be a lot more fun.

"I think it’s just a lot more fun. All the Star Wars’ are really fun, but I think this movie – we know what’s gonna happen. We know they’re not gonna die. We know, kind of, what happens, but how we got there is, I guess, the crux of it. So, we’re allowed to have a lot more fun than, I think, in the other movies, where you have to deal with a lot of lineage and what’s going to happen. I think this movie’s just a fun summer film. I’m really excited about it. It’s really cool."

That sounds encouraging. I'm up for a Star Wars movie that has more fun than usual. That's probably why directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller were hired in the first place. In the end, that didn't work out and they were replaced with Ron Howard.

All of the films in the Star Wars franchise manage to have a lot of fun and some amusing humor. It will be interesting to see how much farther Solo takes the fun and humor.

This got me to thinking, though. What is the most fun Star Wars movie that has been made? You can immediately cut out the prequels due to all of the Senate drama and the coarse sand. After thinking about it, I'd have to go with Return of the Jedi. Yeah, it may not be the best, but in my opinion, it definitely had a lot more fun than the rest of the Star Wars film. What film would you choose?
